Role Description
We are seeking a high-performing Director of Business Development to drive and expand our network of travel agent partners and increase bookings for our custom safari packages. This is a remote role ideal for a sales-driven professional with a strong existing book of business, a proven track record in travel sales, and the ability to rapidly grow revenue in a startup environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, nurture, and expand relationships with travel agents, tour operators, and corporate partners to drive bookings for Explorest Travel’s custom safari experiences.
- Leverage existing book of business to generate immediate sales and identify opportunities for rapid revenue growth.
- Create and execute strategic sales plans targeting high-value travel agency partners.
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to develop compelling sales materials, promotions, and campaigns tailored to travel agents.
- Attend industry events, conferences, and virtual meetings to build brand awareness and strengthen partnerships.
- Track, analyze, and report on sales performance metrics to inform strategic decisions.
- Stay up-to-date on travel trends, competitor offerings, and safari industry developments to provide insights and recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in travel sales, with a strong track record of exceeding targets and growing revenue.
- Established book of business with travel agents and tour operators, ideally in luxury or safari travel.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Strong understanding of luxury travel, custom itineraries, and client expectations.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote role.

Compensation is structured entirely through commission on bookings and a profit-sharing arrangement, providing the opportunity to earn based on the business you generate and the overall success of Explorest Travel.
