Luxury Safaris with Purpose in Africa
Preserving East Africa’s Beauty, One Adventure at a Time
At Explorest Travel, we combine luxury safari experiences with responsible travel, ensuring that every journey contributes to the preservation of East Africa’s iconic landscapes and wildlife. From the sweeping savannas of Kenya and Tanzania to Rwanda’s misty gorilla forests, our safaris are thoughtfully designed to protect natural habitats, empower local communities, and create unforgettable experiences that leave a lasting positive impact on both travelers and the environment.

Our Core Sustainability Pillars
Wildlife Conservation

We actively support the protection of Africa’s most iconic species, including elephants, lions, rhinos, and giraffes, through partnerships with conservancies, sanctuaries, and anti-poaching initiatives. Each safari booking contributes directly to preserving these animals and their natural habitats.
Community Empowerment

Our safaris uplift local communities by supporting fair-wage employment, education programs, artisan cooperatives, and development projects. By traveling responsibly, guests help strengthen the livelihoods and cultural heritage of Africa’s people.
Eco-Conscious Lodging

We carefully select luxury lodges and camps that prioritize sustainability, including solar power, water conservation, locally sourced materials, and eco-friendly operations. These accommodations offer exceptional comfort while minimizing environmental impact.
Cultural Respect

Guests engage authentically with Maasai, Samburu, and other local communities through guided experiences, traditional storytelling, and artisan workshops. Our approach ensures cultural immersion that is meaningful, respectful, and educational.
Low-Impact Travel

Every journey is designed to minimize environmental impact through carbon-offset programs, low-waste practices, and responsible safari operations. Travelers can enjoy Africa’s wilderness knowing their adventure supports sustainable tourism.
Partnerships That Make a Difference
We collaborate with leading conservation organizations to ensure every safari supports wildlife protection and community development.

Reteti Elephant Sanctuary
Reteti is the first community-owned elephant sanctuary in Africa, located in northern Kenya. It rescues and rehabilitates orphaned or injured baby elephants with the goal of releasing them back into the wild. Explorest guests can visit this inspiring center to learn how local Samburu communities are leading conservation efforts and redefining the future of wildlife protection through compassion, science, and indigenous knowledge.

Sheldrick Wildlife Trust
One of Africa’s most renowned wildlife organizations, Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is best known for its pioneering orphan-elephant rescue and rehabilitation program. The trust also operates vital conservation initiatives including anti-poaching units, mobile veterinary teams, and habitat preservation. Explorest donates a portion of each booking to SWT, and many of our safaris begin or end with a private visit to their Nairobi nursery—a moving experience that highlights the impact travelers can have.

Seedballs Kenya
Seedballs Kenya is transforming reforestation with a simple but powerful idea: restore degraded lands by distributing indigenous tree seeds in protective charcoal shells, ready to sprout when conditions are right. This cost-effective, large-scale method allows reforestation in areas affected by deforestation, overgrazing, or climate change. Explorest supports Seedballs Kenya by funding seed distribution in key ecosystems throughout Kenya—helping to regenerate forests, improve biodiversity, and restore natural balance for future generations.
